Sale progressing well

Our little shop is slowly thining out & our shelves are returing to white. Wow what a week & a bit it has been. Emotionally & physically exhausting. I am keeping my eye on the prize & remembering "onward & upwards". It has just confirmed to me that we have made the right decision to return to the online world.
We are now only opening school hours. Monday to Friday 9:30am-3:00pm which is great. Being home at that time of the day is fantastic & seeing the little faces all around the kitchen bench telling me about their day is priceless. Dave is away all this week & we are missing him already.
Closing date is yet to be confirmed but I am predicitng only another week to go. x

Closing down......

After much deliberation & consideration we have decided to close the doors of our little store in Baylis Street & return to the online world. The crazy of life has finally all caught up with us. I think I have felt every emotion & thoughts through my body, sadness, confusion, anger, contentment, happiness, excitement, opportunity.
I have been able to see the light at the end of the tunnel for some time now but really didn't want to go through it. I know that I wanted to be able to be the mum i should be, the wife Dave needs me to be, be the friend I need to be & find myself again. The tunnel seemed so scary.

The page is finally turning on life for me, the weight is lifting & I am looking forward to being everything I need to be. Packing up the dream, I know now that this shop isn't going to cry for me at my funeral. Sure why don't I put someone in the shop to work for me, we have considered that. The answer was: it would take another month to find the right person, get them up & running your now looking at two months down the track, trust them to do the right thing & love the store the way that I have, still controlling all the background of the business from home which would still eat into my little families time that I have deprived them of for too long. To be fair to the most important people to me, time isn't something I have, and you can't buy time or love.

We are going to go back to the start - online (revamped), with a few of our top sellers.
Our closing down sale will start Monday 28 February with a progressive sale starting at 25% off storewide. The percentage will go up to 50% storewide, watch our facebook page & store billboard to see what the daily percentage is. Our store hours will be changing over the next week or two.
THIS SATURDAY WE WILL BE CLOSED TO PREPARE FOR THE SALE
Sale week from Monday 28 February - Friday 4 March
Monday: 9:30am - 5:00pm (25% off)
Tuesday: 9:30am - 5:00pm (25% off)
Wednesday: 9:30am - 5:00pm (30% off)
Thursday: 9:30am - 7:00pm
Friday: 9:30am - 1:00pm
Saturday: closed

The following week: 7 March - onward
Monday - Friday: 9:30am - 3:00pm
Saturdays closed

The lease on the store is up for grabs, contact Tim West - Professionals if you are interested. We have been fortunate enough to have the best landlord ever. The shop fitout is also for sale - Shelving, island bench, counter, cash register, fittings & fixtures, free standing racks etc. Come in and negioate. all offers invited.
I would like to thank all the customers that have come in over these past couple of years. I am going to be sad not to see all the little faces in the prams that have grown up over that time.
My dear Mum & Dad said to me this week "onward & upward" & "you get one chance at life".
Happy days ahead!

Holidays & back to reality

Wow what a whirlwind the last couple of weeks have been. I have been lucky enough to have stopped & smelt the roses & boy it was a fantastic to spend time with the ones that I hold really dear to me. Back to reality this week for Dave & myself. Dave has started his new position Monday so he is really excited about his new adventure.
The Nursery Fairy is looking forward to a new year ahead. We have just recieved our guides for the up & coming fairs in Sydney so I can't wait to pop along to them & check out what is new - exciting! We have just had a drop of Mini La La clips arrive which is fantastic. They are the best little clips for all types of hair. Still have a little of the Lonsdale kids clothing to clear, some great bargains on the island bench - limited sizes.
A Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Skye from Skye Rocket Studios, she is expecting her first little bundle of joy this year, very very exciting :)
Went out to grab a bite to eat last night to Il Corso, had the most beautiful pasta for dinner & the service was fantastic. Going to pop around to see little Lulu this week, before she grows up.
Happy days ahead!

Family & being together.

2 Sleeps until the fat man in the red suit comes.....

I am looking forward to being surrounded by my family. very sad that Maude & Bobby won't be home with us all as they are working, keeping the economy ticking over, we will catch up with them early in the new year (xx). After slogging it out in the shops yesterday I was very pleased to get home last night & kick my shoes off and say I am FINISHED the Christmas shopping. :). Christmas Celebrations

This time of year you get a chance to catch up with old & new friends & take some time out to celebrate & relect on the year that was. In the crazy of life throughout the year you miss catching up with these special people, which is why I have made one of my new years resolutions is to catch up with all my dear friends more than what I have in 2010. Saturday night, one of my most favourite people in the world cooked me & my little family a christmas feast. It was BEAUTIFUL. We were very spoilt and enjoyed every minute of it. Merry Christmas little Imogen I hope that Santa bringings you all the treasures in the world for your first Christmas. x

School's almost out

Been up to school today for end of year awards. Congratulations to Little Maggie Mabel won an award for outstanding achievement in creativity & arts & recieved her gold award. Report cards came home end of last week & both Bessie Boo & Maggie Mabel has done exceptionally well. I am so proud of my little chic's. 2011 is bringing great things. Dave has his change in job which is really exciting, he celebrated at his Christmas party at the Union hotel on friday night. You know how you go office christmas party & you have a great time & the next day at work in the tea room you talk about someone that has celebrated that little too much, well Dave's your man this year. The whole 13 years we have been married I haven't seen such hilarous funny behaviour. We had a ball. Congratulations my best friend on getting your dream job.

Big Jack's 70th Birthday

Sunday would've been one of my most favourite days of 2010. My dear uncle "big Jack" turned 70. The day was filled with lots of celebration, love & laughter shared with other aunty's, uncles, cousins, 1st cousins, 2nd cousins, cousins once & twice removed, lots of family friends, old school friends & work collegues of big Jack's. It was a perfect day. Happy Birthday Big Jack you have been such a large part of my life & I can't wait to share the years ahead with you. x

Melton Family Farm Direct Meats

Congratulations to Anthony, Margie & Family for starting this new adventure. How fantastic to be able to order fresh QUALITY meat direct from the farm. I was having a little play around with this website & not only was it really easy to use & had heaps of info, I was able to find some fantastic packages to suit my little family and most of all GREAT price. Very competitive. Being from a farming background myself I have been able to appreciate fresh meat straight from the paddock. Don't know about you but I can certainly taste the difference. Not only can you have it delivered to your door but you can pop along to the Farmers Markets (list on the website) & check the product out first hand.

Up for grabs

It has been two weeks since our initial anouncement that we are selling the Nursery Fairy and making a much needed lifestyle change. Initially I have felt like I have lost someone who has been such a huge part of my life & I was right. It has been years since Dave, Mick & I decorated little Bella's nursery & our first talks about creating The Nursery Fairy. 3 years online & 2 years in the store and I am so happy with our decision to move on. Not a huge timeline in business I know. I have been given the gift of three beautiful little girls who are growing up so quickly & i need to see that happen & be more of apart of their lives. Not to mention that Dave has a career change coming in the near future on way or another Along with a few other challenges & positives happening in our lives.
I asked my very supportive husband "when was it that you realised that life isn't all about you anymore?" his reponse was "when I won the premiership in Footy & retired from the game from then" ..... I thought about that for a moment, what was happening in our lives then.... the pending birth of our third miricle, our eldest little girl off to school & relocating back to Wagga, his work changing & this was beginning the rest of our lives for him and this moment is the beginning for me.
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to create something so beautiful, live my dream & ride the wave of ups & downs in small business today. I have loved every minute of it. It is time to step back & let someone else take NFHQ to the next level & maybe take on some of the dreams I had for this place. I have had mixed reponse from people, some positives "I am really pleased that you have made that decision", "you won't regret it", "god, don't know how you have done it for this long" "can't wait to see more of you".... some negative "isn't it a shame that it didn't work" being the most common and "you will regret it" . I really appreciate them all. When you decide to do something like this you do factor in what peoples reactions will be & how that will make you feel. One thing I have learnt from the past is that you can't & have no control over what people will say you can only choose which bits you take onboard. In life people will always say things to make you feel good or themselves feel good.
What is around the corner, most asked question over the past two weeks "what are you going to do now?" first thing, have a really long shower & shave my legs properely!

Muddi Boutique Markets

What a fantastic day on Saturday at the Markets. Reports say that over 4000 people made their way through the gates for the Muddi handmade experience. Congrats to all store holders. Some amazing goodies on offer. I must say I dipped into the tin to buy a couple of beautiful creations. The winners on the day were Country Hope, raising $2000 for their charity. FANTASTIC! At the Country Hope stand were these amazing stubby holder shoots, that fix to your wall (near the bbq or bar??) & hold all your stubby holders (obviously). They are made by a local guy who donates them to Country Hope to sell & keep the sale proceeds. They come in all different colours & footy teams themes. These are on my hit list for Dad & Dave this year at $25 each, cracker of an idea to get stubby holders out of your cupboards & drawers. You can contact Country Hope to place an order today.

Next markets date is set for Saturday 13th of November, 9am - 2pm. Stall holders are already booking their place so if you are creative & need a stall contact Muddi Boutique Markets now to secure your space. Congrats Sari & the team.

Happy Birthday Bessie

Double Digits for Bessie. Happy Birthday beautiful girl. On Bessie's birthday we past the day saying "this time 10 years ago you where..." or "this is what was happening....". Can't tell you where that time has gone. Celebrating with great friends & family she hosted a Minute -to-win it party. Lots of laughs were had on the day. FUN! I think I am the luckiest mummy in the world to have such a lovely natured, kind, caring, charisma confident, mindful, thoughtful, stunning little girl. You bring so much happiness to our lives & give so much love Bess.
